Partner with us
For more than 25 years, the NSF Center for Integrated Pest Management (cIPM) at North Carolina State University (NCSU) has partnered with numerous federal, state, international and industry partners to develop innovative solutions that serve the needs of our clients.
The Center operates an Enterprise Data Center that is USDA-certified, offering enterprise class infrastructure built from the ground up employing state-of-the art technologies. cIPM utilizes industry-standard best practices to provide Infrastructure as a Service.
The Center employs software developers, content specialists, web designers and other professionals to create, deploy and manage systems that we have developed. The Center employs an iterative development cycle (utilizing a client feedback loop) during all phases of development to ensure that the final end-software product meets stakeholder needs. As a University Research Center, cIPM has access to a wide breadth of advanced software and technological solutions. CIPM will utilize the most appropriate technological tools and solutions to create and manage projects.
Membership
Membership in the NSF CIPM is open to all organizations in the United States with an interest in pest and crop management, environmental stewardship, and a safe and sustainable food supply. Other benefits include:
Technology Access
With semiannual meetings and reports, members see the latest in technology first. All members share in all of the research results and, if desired, can speed up areas of particular interest with enhancement funding.
Leverage
Total funding from memberships, enhancements and other grants exceeds 4.4 million annually. Each member realizes a significant leveraging of their membership fee. This leveraging is further enhanced by a low 9.5 percent overhead.
Research, Not Politics
The Center for IPM does not engage in the politics of IPM, or any lobbying activities. All funds are used for the targeted IPM research and outreach determined by the Industry Advisory Board, made up of representatives from each member organization.
Communication
Semi-annual Center meetings provide an informal forum for discussion, cooperation, and the exchange of perspectives and information among agribusiness, government (USDA, EPA), national and state grower associations, other non-profit organizations, and university extension personnel and researchers.
Credibility
As a National Science Foundation founded Center within the state land grant university system, the Center’s research results can be trusted as scientifically-based and unbiased information. All publications, whether in print or on the Internet are subject to university scientist peer review.
Investment
Center Membership, and the ensuing supported research, provides key financial and educational support for undergraduate and graduate students in many diverse areas of agriculture.
