About
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is socially acceptable, environmentally responsible and economically practical pest management in crop production, urban, and natural settings.
The NSF Center for Integrated Pest Management (CIPM) was established in 1991 to serve a lead role in techno- logy development, program implement- ation, training, and public awareness for IPM at the state, regional, and national level.
Mission
CIPM fosters the development and implementation of pest management programs and policies based on a high level of knowledge of pest biology coupled with choices of monitoring tools and control technology, resulting in economically sound, environmentally compatible, and sociologically responsible pest management in diverse systems including crop production, urban and natural settings.
Projects
CIPM secures, manages and directs projects and programs that impact our vision and mission statements. CIPM encompasses a tiered approach to address the most critical IPM issues at the State, regional, national and international levels.
Projects are managed by PIs or teams of CIPM personnel, usually in partner- ship with stakeholders.
